What is JUVÉDERM?
JUVÉDERM is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a sugar that occurs naturally in the body and helps keep the skin plump and hydrated. Over time, levels of hyaluronic acid in our skin decrease, resulting in an increased appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a loss of facial volume. By injecting JUVÉDERM into targeted locations, our experienced providers can increase moisture retention, resulting in improved volume and plumper skin.

JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC injectable gel is a specially formulated dermal filler that is FDA-approved for augmenting the lips and diminishing vertical lines around the mouth, which our patients sometimes refer to as “smoker’s lines”. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC is unique in that it is created using VYCROSS® technology, which helps restore fullness and definition to the lips while maintaining a more natural appearance.3
How Does JUVÉDERM Treatment Work?
One of our experienced injectors will use a very fine needle to inject the JUVÉDERM gel into the target area during your filler treatment. To enhance your comfort, a local anesthetic can be applied to the surface of your skin before the injection. Most JUVÉDERM products also contain the numbing agent lidocaine. Though many patients will notice an immediate improvement in their skin, results should continue to improve during the days following your procedure. JUVÉDERM procedures can be completed in as little as 30 minutes.
Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising at the injection site, though these side effects should recede quickly. Typically, there is zero downtime associated with JUVÉDERM, and most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after leaving our office. Many of our patients schedule their JUVÉDERM treatment during a lunch break.
Depending on the treatment area and the JUVÉDERM formula used, results can last up to one year.
