What Is DAXXIFY?

Traditional wrinkle relaxers typically wear off in three to four months. DAXXIFY uses a unique peptide-based formula that helps the active ingredient bind more effectively, which is why the results tend to stick around for about six months on average, and up to nine months for some patients. It is also the only neuromodulator of its kind that does not rely on human albumin as a stabilizing ingredient.2
The FDA approved DAXXIFY in September 2022, based on one of the largest clinical trial programs ever conducted for a neuromodulator: the SAKURA studies, which enrolled more than 2,700 patients across multiple trials. The data showed a median result duration of approximately six months.3

How Does DAXXIFY Work?
DAXXIFY works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell targeted facial muscles to contract. When those muscles relax, the lines and wrinkles that form from repeated expressions like frowning, squinting, or raising the brows begin to smooth out.
The treatment takes only a few minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a brief pinch, and there is no downtime afterward. You can return to your normal routine the same day.4
Results are not permanent. Over time, nerve activity gradually resumes, muscle movement returns, and a follow-up treatment can be scheduled to maintain your look.

During treatment, a fine needle is used to deliver precise injections into the targeted muscle groups. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild pinch. No anesthesia is required, though a topical numbing cream is available upon request. For patients who want an additional level of comfort, we also offer PRO-NOX™, a nitrous oxide system that provides fast-acting relief during treatment. The full appointment, including consultation and treatment, is typically completed in under 30 minutes.
There is no downtime after DAXXIFY. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, refraining from lying flat for several hours after treatment, and avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medications in the days before your appointment.
Results and Recovery
Many patients notice improvement within two days of treatment. In clinical trials, nearly three out of four patients showed significant improvement in their frown lines at the four-week mark. Full results are typically visible within one to two weeks.
Some mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites is normal and usually resolves within a few days. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area immediately after your appointment.
