DAXXIFY™ is a neuromodulator, a type of medication that works by inhibiting the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles. When injected into the muscles that cause wrinkles, they are forced to relax and soften, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.
DAXXIFY™ contains a purified protein that is similar to a naturally occurring chemical in the body called botulinum toxin. When injected into the muscles, it blocks the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which is involved in muscle contraction. This leads to a temporary reduction in muscle activity and the appearance of wrinkles.
DAXXIFY™ is typically administered through a series of injections into the muscles of the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. Before a DAXXIFY™ treatment, you’ll need to schedule a personal consultation at Deep Blue Med Spa to discuss your medical history and treatment goals with an aesthetic provider. Your provider will assess your wrinkles and facial muscles to determine the appropriate treatment plan and dosage.
During the treatment, your provider will clean the injection site and may apply a numbing cream to minimize discomfort. The provider will then inject the DAXXIFY™ solution into the targeted muscles using a fine needle. The treatment usually takes only a few minutes to administer.
After the treatment, you may experience some mild side effects, such as redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These side effects should resolve on their own within a few days. It is important to follow the instructions of your healthcare provider, including any recommendations for aftercare, to minimize the risk of complications and optimize the results of the treatment.
You should be able to return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment, although you should avoid massaging or rubbing the injection site and avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours. It’s also important to avoid lying down for at least 4 hours after the treatment to prevent the solution from spreading to other muscles.
The effects of the treatment can be seen within a few days and will gradually improve over the next several weeks as the muscles continue to relax. The results of DAXXIFY™ typically last for 6 months on average, with some patients experiencing results lasting up to 9 months.
