Morpheus8 Microneedling

Page Updated:

Deep Blue Med Spa is proud to offer patients in NYC, Long Island, and Manhattan Morpheus8, a minimally-invasive treatment that can help to restore the firmness and texture of your skin. This treatment is ideal for addressing issues caused by aging, pregnancy, and weight fluctuations, which can cause the skin to appear loose or saggy. Morpheus8 can provide patients with a solution for skin tightening and rejuvenation on the face and body.

What Is Morpheus8 Microneedling?

Morpheus8 is a type of microneedling device that delivers radio frequency (RF) energy in addition to traditional microneedling. The handheld device has tiny needles that are used to create micro-injuries in the skin, which in turn stimulate collagen production. The RF energy then heats the deeper layers of the skin, further promoting new collagen production and skin tightening.1 Morpheus8 is used for skin rejuvenation and can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and other skin imperfections.2

Benefits of Morpheus8 Microneedling

Morpheus8 RF is a minimally-invasive treatment that provides several benefits for the skin. While each person’s skin is different and results may vary, some of the benefits of Morpheus8 include:

  • Tightening of loose or saggy skin: The RF energy used in Morpheus8 helps to heat the deeper layers of the skin, promoting collagen production and improving skin laxity.
  • Improved skin texture: The micro-injuries created by the tiny needles in the Morpheus8 device can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.
  • Collagen production: Morpheus8 stimulates collagen production, which helps to improve the overall appearance of the skin and can provide a more youthful look.
  • Minimally invasive: Morpheus8 is a non-surgical procedure, which means it has less downtime and less risk compared to other, more invasive procedures.3
  • Customizable: Morpheus8 can be customized to suit each patient’s specific needs and goals.
  • Suitable for both face and body: Morpheus8 can be used on the face, neck, and body to improve skin texture and tone.

What Areas Can Morpheus8 Treat?

Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling is a versatile treatment for all skin types that can be used on various areas of the face, neck, and body. Some of the most common areas treated with Morpheus8 include:

  • Face: Morpheus8 can be used to improve signs of aging on the face including the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.
  • Neck: Morpheus8 can be used to improve skin elasticity on the neck, tightening and rejuvenating the skin in this area, which can help to improve the appearance of a “turkey neck.”
  • Body: Morpheus8 can be used to improve the appearance of loose or saggy skin on the body, including the stomach, arms, and legs.
  • Hands: Morpheus8 can be used to improve the appearance of aging hands by tightening loose skin and reducing wrinkles.
  • Scalp: Morpheus8 can also be used to improve the appearance of hair thinning and scalp wrinkles.

Preparing For Morpheus8

Preparing for a Morpheus8 RF microneedling treatment begins with a consultation at Deep Blue Med Spa, where a licensed provider will evaluate your skin and determine if Morpheus8 is the right treatment for you. If you are a candidate for Morpheus8, you may need to discontinue certain medications such as blood thinners or retinoids before your treatment to reduce the risk of bleeding or bruising. You should avoid sun exposure for at least a week prior to your treatment to prevent sunburn or tanning. On the day of treatment, we ask that you cleanse the treatment area thoroughly to remove any makeup, oils, or dirt before arriving at your appointment.

The Morpheus8 Microneedling Procedure

During a Morpheus8 microneedling procedure, your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. Then a handheld device that has tiny needles on its tip is used to make small punctures known as “micro-injuries” in the skin. This causes a controlled injury, which triggers the body’s natural healing process.

Recovery After Morpheus8

Recovery after Morpheus8 treatment is typically minimal. Some patients may experience post-procedure redness, swelling, and mild discomfort for a few days, but this should subside quickly. Patience can also experience slight skin irritation or dryness for a couple of days. It’s important to follow the post-treatment instructions provided by your practitioner and to protect the treated area from sun exposure for a few days after the procedure.

FAQs About Morpheus8

How many Morpheus8 microneedling treatments will I need?

The number of Morpheus8 microneedling treatment sessions that you may need can vary depending on your skin condition and goals. Typically, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. During your consultation, your practitioner will evaluate your skin condition and recommend an appropriate treatment plan. It is important to note that the results of Morpheus8 are often progressive, meaning that the benefits of the treatment may continue to improve over time. It is also essential to maintain a healthy skincare routine and protect the skin from sun damage to prolong the treatment results.

How is Morpheus8 different from other microneedling treatments?

Morpheus8 is a type of microneedling treatment that uses radiofrequency technology in addition to the traditional microneedling process. This allows for deeper penetration of the needles into the skin, which can result in more dramatic improvements in skin tone and texture.

One of the main differences between Morpheus8 and other microneedling treatments is the level of penetration. Traditional microneedling typically only penetrates the top layer of the skin, while Morpheus8 can reach deeper layers of the skin, which can stimulate collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer and smoother skin.

Another difference is that Morpheus8 can target the subdermal fat layer, which is not treated by traditional microneedling. It also has a wider range of applicability in treating not only the face but also the body and hands.

The use of radiofrequency energy also allows for more precise targeting of specific areas of the skin, making it an effective treatment for a wide range of skin concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin tone.

Can I combine my Morpheus8 treatment with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes, the Morpheus8 treatment can be combined with other cosmetic procedures. Depending on the individual’s skin concerns, Morpheus8 may be combined with other treatments such as chemical peels, laser resurfacing, or other injectable treatments like Botox or dermal fillers.

The combination of Morpheus8 with other procedures can enhance the overall result and address multiple concerns at once. For example, Morpheus8 can be used to improve skin tone and texture while dermal fillers can be used to add volume and reduce wrinkles.

Is Morpheus8 painful?

Overall, Morpheus8 is considered to be a relatively comfortable treatment. Some patients may experience some discomfort during the treatment, but the level of pain can vary from person to person. Your practitioner will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area before the procedure to minimize discomfort.

Most patients describe the sensation as a mild to moderate discomfort, similar to that of a mild sunburn. Some patients may also feel a mild tingling or prickling sensation during the procedure. After the procedure, patients may experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, but these side effects typically subside quickly.

During the treatment, your practitioner will adjust the settings of the Morpheus8 device according to your pain tolerance and comfort level.

Is there any downtime after Morpheus8?

There is minimal downtime associated with Morpheus8. Patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

How much does Morpheus8 cost?

The cost of Morpheus8 treatment can vary depending on factors such as the number of treatments required to achieve your desired results. It’s important to keep in mind that the cost of the Morpheus8 treatment is an investment in your skin’s health and appearance. Many people find that the benefits of the treatment far outweigh the cost. Additionally, we offer package deals for multiple treatments, which can be more cost-effective.
