What Is Sofwave?
Sofwave is an FDA-cleared ultrasound device for adults 22 and older. It is cleared to smooth facial lines and wrinkles and to lift the eyebrow. It is also cleared to lift loose skin beneath the chin and on the neck. Additional clearances cover acne scars, loose skin on the upper arms, and short-term cellulite improvement.
Sofwave is not a facelift. It works best on mildly to moderately loose skin, not advanced sagging or significant excess skin. It is one of several skin tightening treatments we offer, and we will help you find the right one.
How Does Sofwave Work?
Sofwave delivers ultrasound energy through a handheld applicator that glides across your skin. The energy gently heats the middle layer of your skin, where collagen and elastin give it structure. That warmth creates tiny, controlled treatment zones beneath the surface.
Your skin responds by building fresh collagen over the following weeks and months. As that new support forms, skin looks firmer, smoother, and more lifted. A built-in cooling system protects the outer layer of your skin throughout treatment.
Collagen rebuilds slowly, so your results keep developing for months after your visit.

Does Sofwave Hurt?
You will feel gentle heat during your Sofwave treatment. As the applicator moves, you will feel brief pulses of warmth that build and then fade.
Afterward, you can return to work, wear makeup, and follow your usual skincare routine the same day.
Sofwave results build gradually as your skin makes new collagen. Many patients notice early firmness within a few weeks. The clearest change tends to arrive around 3 months.
In a multicenter study spanning all 6 skin types, 86% of patients saw smoother lines 12 weeks after 1 treatment.
Your plan will typically include 1 or 2 sessions. Results are long-lasting, but your skin keeps aging. Many patients return for a maintenance session about once a year. Results may vary.

Is Sofwave safe, and what are the side effects?
Sofwave is FDA-cleared, and clinical studies reported no device-related adverse events. The most common side effects are mild redness and light swelling, which usually fade within a few hours. Your provider reviews your health history first to confirm Sofwave is a good fit.
Should I choose Sofwave or Morpheus8™ Microneedling?
Sofwave uses ultrasound to firm and lift loose skin, with no needles and no downtime. Morpheus8 Microneedling pairs fine needles with radiofrequency energy, so it also refines texture and scarring. It usually involves a few days of redness. Your provider will recommend one, or a combination, based on your skin.
