JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC is specially formulated to treat moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds. The dermal filler is in the JUVÉDERM® family of products and is FDA approved for patients 22 years and older. The cosmetic injectable can provide subtle smoothing of vertical lines extending from the nose down to the corners of the mouth, which are more commonly referred to as nasolabial folds or smile lines.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC is composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in the body and helps the skin retain its moisture and youthful form. This HA-based formula provides a natural-looking smoothing effect as it adds volume to the target area, helping fill in lines in the area. JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC also contains the numbing agent lidocaine, which helps patients remain comfortable throughout their treatment.
One session of JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC typically lasts 30 minutes or less, though this time will vary based on the amount of the filler needed and number of areas to be treated. Results of the advanced dermal filler can often be seen immediately after treatment. Some patients may experience mild side effects at the injection sites, including swelling and bruising, but these should quickly fade. Most individuals do not require any downtime following their injections, allowing them to resume their normal day-to-day activities after they leave our office.
